Capacitor Manufacturing Capabilities:
Assembly

Custom's Assembly Capabilities include, but are not limited to;

Manual (Hand) Soldering:
As defined by ANSI J-STD-001, almost all of our high voltage capacitors, assemblies, and modules are categorized as Class 3 products (High Performance Electronic Products). Therefore, they require high quality solder joints and connections. Custom uses a manual soldering process or "iron soldering," as defined by the American Welding Society. Our skilled technicians create quality solder joints that are appropriate for the high voltage capacitors, assemblies, and modules we manufacture. They also use special manual soldering techniques to reduce the partial discharge inception voltage and the electrical field stress around the solder joint. Although we comply with many sections of ANSI J-STD-001B, we are allowed to make some exceptions to this standard because of the high voltage nature of our products (Ref.: Paragraph 13.2.3 in J-STD-001B).

Electrical / Electronic Assembly:
As defined by ANSI J-STD-001B, almost all of Custom's high voltage capacitors, assemblies, and modules are categorized as Class 3 products (High Performance Electronic Products). Custom's high reliability electronic assemblies are produced with a variety of manual and semi-automated electronic assembly processes that include, but are not limited to, joining (soldering), packaging (conformal coating, encapsulation, etc.), and testing. Custom adheres to various standards and specifications (e.g., J-STD-001B, MIL-STD-202, etc.) to produce your electronic assembly project. If you have a job that is "pre-engineered," please keep us in mind. With our assembly and testing capabilities, we can make an outstanding product for virtually any application.

Printed Wire Board Assembly:
Again, with our highly skilled employees, we have the capabilities to produce even the more complicated assemblies. Our technicians are very capable, and talented. Please feel free to send us your "pre engineered" jobs for quotation!

Clean Room Capability:
We have extensive experience and sufficient space in our 27,000-sq. ft. plant to manufacture your product in a Clean Room. We currently produce several lines of our capacitors in such an environment. Whether you need your product made in a temperature, humidity, or dust-controlled room, Custom can do it.

Wire Cutting:
Our reconstituted mica paper capacitor and high voltage modules need wires cut to various lengths. We can also strip certain types of wire that other manufacturers do not want to deal with. Custom can incorporate your wire cutting needs into an assembly operation.

Heli-coil Insertion:
As defined by ANSI J-STD-001B, almost all of Custom's high voltage capacitors, assemblies, and modules are categorized as Class 3 products (High Performance Electronic Products). Custom's assemblies and modules occasionally incorporate the use of Heli-coil inserts, which are made from diamond shaped cross-section wire are screwed into tapped holes to form nominal size internal threads. These types of inserts are installed by torquing through a diametrical tang that is notched for tang removal. Heli-coil inserts meet U. S. military standards (MS33537) and insertion tools meet U. S. government standards (A-A-59158). Subcontracting:
If your company has a product or product line that needs to be "farmed out," please keep Custom in mind. Our technicians have years of experience assembling the most complex electrical and electronic modules and units. We have a multitude of resources and capabilities within our manufacturing plant and we are always willing to look at new procedures or methods.
